I used to take the existence of the purple coneflower for granted. Thank you for helping me appreciate all the necessary steps it needs to offer us its beauty!

I will now be seeing Pale Purple Coneflowers as ballet dancers! Thank you for giving me this new vision of them. It makes me more eager to find a place for them in the yard. And thank you for the details of how to get the seeds started. Will love having ballerinas providing nourishment to the birds, bees and butterflies!

I so enjoy your passion for the subjects of your essays, Diane. I have such a deep love of flowers and have planted so many natives in the little pockets of partial sun which I get here in the woods. I have also been doing winter sowing, planting natives seeds in specially-prepared milk jugs and leaving them in the garden for months. I was very pleased with my results my first year. This time I have planted bluestem goldenrod seeds and aster seeds which I gathered from plants which grow naturally on this property. I am hoping to spread around more sources of life to create habitat. Recently my husband and I removed an enormous area of invasive plants and now I have an opening for filling it with good things!

Happy dreaming of spring....
