Oh, Diane. I think besides the wonderful photos and connection with the flora and fauna you write about, This post informs me on another reason I love your Gaia so. To be in a place so consistently and pay such close attention to notice a new touch of lavender and then to cultivate its return is so beautiful. And as a travelers, I am able to do it vicariously through you.

How lovely! I don't think I've ever seen this plant, which is not surprising since its range doesn't appear to extend to central Iowa where I live.

Perhaps the derechos of recent years brought seeds in from west and north Iowa aince those counties are marked dark green where the plant is native.
