He is still in downtown Corpus Christi! My daughter, granddaughter and myself went to lunch on Lomax street downtown and he was sitting on top of the Delicatessen sign looking into the window while we ate our lunch! We enjoyed it so much!!! I feel very lucky to live in Corpus!!!
So! COOL! Congratulations on getting to see a first first!! I've not heard of that bird before and no wonder if it is not from North America. Really cool you saw it and got the photos!!
WOW. I've never even heard of this bird, much less seen one. How exciting! I do hope he finds his way "home" eventually, though. He must be lonely! (I know I'm anthropomorphizing....) Thanks for sharing this really interesting story.
I love your site, both photos and commentary, and would love to subscribe. However, I don't want to use a credit card for payment on any FB sites. Do you have a mailing address? Or even if you accepted PayPal with an additional fee to cover that cost I'd be willing to pay that. Thanks so much for your vivid descriptions and the way you share your love of nature.
Congratulations, Diane... A First FIRST! I feel your excitement! Non-birders can't know why this is important to you, and others (Look at all the Cameras!). But oh well. He came to the US for a visit, and he's very welcome! Maybe he'll visit Santa Cruz... I'd like that! Thd 20-odd Pine Siskins that stopped by here for a few days were such fun! They were THIRSTY!! Stayed mainly in our Bird Bath. I'll send the video. More bathers than we've ever seen at once !
Well, anyway... I'll look for the Cattle Tyrant to swing by! (Fun name!!!)

Blessed to see the lovely bird today on top of the dumpster. He even let me record him as he was happily stretching ❤️🎉

Wow!! Congratulations on your "life bird"--and thanks for sharing fascinating facts, as always!
On my way to visit daughter and family for Thanksgiving. Will look at your site when I return.
Thanks--and Happy Thanksgiving!
Christine

Quite a meaningful Thanksgiving time experience 🙏
What a delightful story! Congratulations on your once-in-a-lifetime First FIRST. Your guy also rated a post in Texas Monthly! https://www.texasmonthly.com/travel/texas-birders-cattle-tyrant-never-seen-north-america/
How very cool! I'm hoping to visit Corpus Christi in the spring, to see what I see there too!
