Excellent article. You should be proud of finding such a rare item for Iowa and making a contribution to the herbarium! I saw that Lichens of No. America showed only the faintest bit of blue for Iowa along the MS River for Gold Dust Lichen. I had read about it trying to ID a gold colored lichen growing on metal here (not a Gold Dust).
