I live on an acreage with a creek, a phoebe always nests in the bridge. There are many trees nearby for it to roost in when leaving the rectangular concrete tunnel of a "bridge."

I love this bird! The western version has a similar call, and it flies out, then back to the same perch, over and over.

My cat also enjoyed your recording this morning!😯

Diane, we have Eastern Phoebes in Western NC year round. At our previous home they roosted under our porch roof during winter from dusk to dawn and nested there all summer. Larry built a feeder from a board with multiple bored holes on both sides and filling them with bark butter. Our Phoebes have developed a real taste for bark butter, along with all the other birds from chickadees, robins, and bluebirds to Pileated woodpeckers. They love it!
